Fashionable American women, angry and frustrated at having to force their bodies into fixed size clothing are leading a rebellion against mass production as they increasingly seek 'made to measure' clothing online. These findings are reflected by the rapid growth of 'made to measure' boutiques opening on the unique site StanfordRow.com which uses the tag line- Make, buy, sell - made to measure fashion. According to StanfordRow.com's CEO, Andrew Hemingway, the frustration and resentment felt particularly among woman at being forced into set sizes so retailers and manufacturers can increase their profits through mass production is despicable and leaves a lot of woman feeling lessthan they should.

"Most women have to live with the compromise and disappointment of clothes made to a size chart not them" says Hemingway, "We've accepted size charts like a slave accepting his chains. We ask people to fit the clothes, when the clothes should fit the person. Of course women are frustrated! It's time for change."

Clothing sizes were created during the industrial revolution of the 1800's by manufacturers to increase mass production and maximize profits. This era is widely

Viewed by social commentators as a turning point in society, breaking the connection between creators and customers, severing social ties and destroying local communities. This new community of made-to-measure designers and customers are part of the new wave responding to the emerging frustrations of American women, and indeed women (and men) around the world.Stanford Row.com, launched in June 2013, currently has 600 independent made to measure boutiques from across the globe catering to the US market and beyond, with up to
50 new boutiques opening every week. Every item is made to measure and there is an online fitting room walking customers through this process. Buyers deal directly with designers in a secure environment, protecting both seller and buyer. http:www.stanfordrow.com
