Ventura County Ballet's 'Cinderella' Is a Perfect Fit

Timeless 'rags to riches' tale told through local ballet's spring production

On Saturday, April 14, one of the world's most beloved fairytales, Cinderella, will return to Ventura County, featuring an exceptional cast of professional dancers and some of the county's top ballerinas.

The Ventura County Ballet (VCB) will share the "rags to riches" love story through the art of dance at the Oxnard Performing Arts Center during two full-scale professional productions at 2 and 7 PM.

Highlighting the VCB Cinderella performance will be the unique and modern choreography provided by State Street Ballet's director, Rodney Gustafson, with additional choreography from Gary McKenzie and Marina Fliagina, VCB ballet mistress. This melding of the minds brings the timeless tale of magical transformations to life through delightful dancing, pageantry, special effects, and of course, humor.

"The Cinderella ballet is one of my favorite productions because it has something that every member of the family can enjoy," said Kathleen Noblin, executive director of the VCB. "This is our most professional ballet and features so many fun elements - dancing puppets, beautiful costumes and even the antics of the hilarious stepsisters
