VEO AND THE HOME DEPOT FOUNDATION ANNOUNCE COMPLETION OF HOUSING VILLAGE SERVICING HOMELESS VETERANS Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and Grand Opening September 7, 2012

Veterans Empowerment Organization (VEO), a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization committed to providing housing and support services to homeless veterans, is proud to announce the Grand Opening of the VEO Village during a special Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on the new VEO Campus, Friday, September 7, 2012, from 10am-2pm, at 373 West Lake Avenue NW, Atlanta, Georgia 30318. The community event and BBQ will also be used as an opportunity to honor and celebrate veterans as well as the community partners and donors who helped throughout the duration of the project. VEO's Executive Director and Founder, Frantz Fortune and Kelly Caffarelli, President of The Home Depot Foundation will provide the ceremonial remarks.

VEO Village offers transitional, supportive housing intended to provide homeless veterans the tools to achieve self-sufficiency and also encourage rehabilitation and reintegration into the community. Funded in part by The Home Depot Foundation, VEO unveiled completion plans for the new VEO Village in Southwest Atlanta, which adds an acquisition of an apartment building, three homes (one commercial), with complete upgrades and renovations, approximately 26 new beds to its permanent housing program, a pavilion, exterior fencing and enhanced landscaping to the existing VEO Campus.

Through donations and corporate support, VEO continues to lead a national crusade to end homelessness and further champion its efforts to provide housing and resources to homeless veterans across Metropolitan Atlanta. "We remain committed to helping those veterans adversely affected by homelessness," said Frantz Fortune, Executive Director and Founder of VEO. "With the help of The Home Depot Foundation and other corporate & private donors, we can continue to provide relief and support for our homeless veterans at a crucial time...when they need us most."

Tours of the completed facility will begin immediately following the ribbon cutting ceremony. For more information please visit www.veohero.org.

About Veterans Empowerment Organization
Veterans Empowerment Organization is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to eradicate veteran homelessness by focusing on providing housing and resources. The vision of VEO is to take homeless veterans off the streets of Metro-Atlanta and provide them hope for a brighter future, while returning the dignity of self-sufficiency to every veteran it serves. Originally launching its efforts to end chronic homeless in the state of Georgia in 2008, VEO was founded by longtime homeless advocate, Frantz Fortune. Under his leadership, the organization has become one of the nationally recognized leaders in the fight to eradicate homelessness, now servicing hundreds of veterans. VEO Village is the organization's newest program, which will serve close to 400 homeless veterans each year and is the only facility of its kind in metro Atlanta. In addition to VEO providing housing and three meals a day for homeless veterans, the organization provides many other resources and programs including workforce development. VEO is supported by United Way, The Home Depot Foundation and several other corporate partners.
