Victim of the "New Economy" Finds Success and Fulfillment in New Career as Phlebotomist

Once a victim of the current economic times, Jennifer Chang has bounced back from being laid off by her employer to find a rewarding new career.

Have you noticed lately that there have been a lot of news headlines about blood? Everything from Sarah Palin defending her use of the term "blood libel," to blood drives being canceled across the eastern seaboard due to heavy snow. At one time Jennifer Chang never would have noticed those stories. Now they catch her attention as if they were written in, well, red.

Like so many people nowadays Jennifer Chang found her world very suddenly turned upside down a few years ago by the global economic crash. "The asset management company which I had worked at for 3 years was hit hard and they cut over 130 jobs overnight," Jennifer sadly remembers, "and unfortunately, mine was one of them. To say it was a shock would be an understatement."

Unemployed and unable to find suitable work for the first time in her adult life and with her unemployment benefits long gone, Jennifer was on the brink of despair as she slowly but steadily drained her savings while pounding the pavement in frustration.

"My husband kept us afloat for over a year, thank heaven, but I was disappointed that I couldn't help out more and really anxious about our future," she explained.
Desperately searching for any port in a storm Jennifer stumbled across PhlebotomyTrainingInfo.org and found herself gratefully intrigued by the possibilities of a new road to success. With 2 members of her family working in the Healthcare industry Jenny eagerly asked questions and explored her options as a potential phlebotomist.

"An older sister was clerking in a hospital and my mother had worked all her life as a RN and so I thought, why not me?"

With her schedule now completely open she diligently pursued her new vocation and found that it was not only professionally accessible but was personally rewarding as well to give back to her community in a way she had never considered before.

"It certainly wasn't my plan or anything," Jenny recently recounted, "but finding PhlebotomyTrainingInfo.org and applying myself to this new career really satisfied me in a way I never expected and I began to look forward to the challenge of it all."

Now 2 years down the road Jenny and her husband are planning the down payment for their first home and looking ahead to starting a family all, as Jenny puts it, "thanks to my new career in blood services."
