Online, September 27, 2010 (Newswire.com) - HO CHI MINH - Optimistic about expected sales growth in the next 12 months, Vietnam's wooden and bamboo furniture suppliers are focusing on eco-friendly products with decorative adornments and finishes. Survey results outline target export markets, product and price trends, and capacity
In addition to industry overview and prices forecasts, the Report offers survey results from featured suppliers. High-level results show:
 45 percent will target the EU, and 25 percent will focus the US market;
 54 percent plan to develop models with more decorative elements and designs;
 85 percent plan to increase quotes by up to 5 percent;
 20 percent are adopting environment-friendly materials, and;
 95 percent are anticipating sales to grow of at least 10 percent
Total annual export sales of the featured suppliers are more than $40 million. They employ more than 9,000 full-time workers, who can produce up to 6 million pieces a month.
Tran Quoc Khang, production manager of ISO 9001:2000-certified Nature Bamboo Company, said: "The past economic crisis did not affect us that much as we offer our main EU clients items in competitive price points and our unique original designs can attract loyal and new buyers.
"Our quotes are kept stable as we have a 200-hectare bamboo plantation that we use to serve our current production. This plantation also ensures we have a stable supply of raw materials for about 50 years."
Report presents local trade associations that help facilitate buyer sourcing
"Buyers will see in the Report details of three trade organizations and handicraft associations that facilitate business interaction between local suppliers and overseas buyers," Khiem said.
One featured organization, the Handicraft and Wood Industry Association of Ho Chi Minh City (HAWA), has more than 200 export-oriented supplier members.
