Vikas Malpani, Co-Founder, CommonFloor.com Named 'Indian Innovator Of The Year' By MIT Technology Review
Vikas Malpani, Co-founder of the Bangalore-based CommonFloor.com has been selected by the Cambridge, USA based Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), as Indian Innovator of the Year under the age of 35 (TR 35).
Online, March 13, 2012 (Newswire.com) - Vikas Malpani, Co-founder of the Bangalore-based CommonFloor.com has been selected by Technology Review (India) Magazine, as Indian Innovator of the Year under the age of 35 (TR 35). Technology Review is published by the Cambridge, USA based Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
TR 35, is an annual list honoring innovators under 35 who are tackling important problems in transformative ways. Vikas Malpani has been selected, for co-founding CommonFloor.com, that brings together residential communities and helps address a user's complete residential requirements; including searching for an apartment, facilitating interactions within an apartment community and connecting to relevant service providers. Vikas is one of the five from Bangalore, from a list of 20 young innovators, chosen by MIT TR (India).
CommonFloor in 2007, along with Sumit Jain and Lalit Mangal. Some of the problems that Commonfloor.com helps address includes finding a home, enabling association and member conversations, finding vendors and provide a forum to address community and civic issues.
According to Vikas, "I am very happy that our efforts at CommonFloor have been recognized by MIT Technology Review. Today, living in an apartment can become difficult without the right access to information and services. We believed that, given the spurt in huge residential communities in our cities coupled with a heavy migrant population, a unified platform for residents and associations was imperative. This led us to create CommonFloor.com".
Commonfloor.com helps different stakeholders in real estate market in different ways. It connects apartment seekers and owners on one hand. On the other hand, it serves as a tool to computerize the community management processes while leveraging the internet to discuss issues and share information through e-mails and SMS.
