Low-cost Australian airline Virgin Blue has suspended its Internet and kiosk check-in services as it struggles to fix its computer problems.

The Web check-in, kiosk check-in and Check-mate systems will not be functioning from 8 p.m. Tuesday until the start of the business day Thursday.

During this time, the airline said check-in for domestic flights will open 2 hours before scheduled departure time and 3 hours for international journeys, the airline said on its Web site.

"The ability to make, change [or] cancel a booking during this time will be inhibited," Virgin Blue said, adding "... Please make bookings before [or] after [the] system upgrade, as we will not be able to assist you with bookings during this time."

Problems with the check-in system last weekend created widespread chaos across Australia with scores of Virgin Blue flights being canceled.
