Virginia Author Celebrates Her Magic Fishing Panties in Old Town Alexandria

Who amongst us isn't a bit superstitious this time of year? It is, after all, the witching season, when black cats, floating ghosts, and goblins cross our paths and wizards cast mystical spells with enchanted wands. Fittingly, Virginia author Kimberly "Kimba" Dalferes has chosen this week to celebrate the release of her second book, "Magic Fishing Panties." Join her at Murphy's on November 1st.

Who amongst us isn’t a wee bit superstitious this time of year? It is, after all, the witching season, when black cats, floating ghosts, and goblins cross our paths and wizards cast mystical spells with enchanted wands. Fittingly, Virginia author Kimberly “KimbaDalferes has chosen this week to celebrate the release of her second book, Magic Fishing Panties.

“The world needs the all-out laughter and realism that Kimba's books provide,” noted April Gerard, Book Manager at Booktrope Publishing. “Her stories are funny, relatable, and magically genuine all at the same time. Trust me, you won't want to miss out on the snorts and laughs that inevitably happen while reading the pages of this author’s books.”

Magic Fishing Panties is Dalferes’ second book. Her first humorous story collection, I Was In Love With a Short Man Once, was released in 2011, with a second edition published this past June by Booktrope Publishing. Described as Erma Bombeck with a shot of tequila, the author’s latest collection of humorous tales offers new perspective from the self-proclaimed crazy Southern Irish gal and recent inductee into “Club 50.”

A book release party for Magic Fishing Panties, an open event, takes place Sunday November 1st, from 4 to 7 pm at Murphy’s Irish Pub in Old Town Alexandria, VA. Books will be available for purchase (cash or check only) and there will be a cash bar. Giveaways such as free books, shirts, and gift cards will also be offered throughout the festivities. For additional information about this event, contact Murphy’s at (703) 548-1717.

“I can think of no better place to celebrate this second book of more tales from a crazy Southern Irish gal than at Murphy’s Irish Pub,” said the author. “Please come out and join the fun. Books, Guinness, and giveaways–what’s not to love?” Dalferes added, “I’m even considering doing a reading. I could be sharing how and why I might, or I might not, have a tattoo.”
