Virginia Charity Auction Planners Have Opportunity to Learn Latest in Auction Technology and Trends

The 21st Annual Educational Conference of the Meeting Professionals International Virginia Chapter (VAMPI) will include a session by benefit auctioneer Sherry Truhlar.

The 21st Annual Educational Conference of the Meeting Professionals International Virginia Chapter (VAMPI) will include a session by benefit auctioneer Sherry Truhlar. Truhlar will use her more than five year's experience with auction galas to lead attendees through a maze of technology available for charity auctions.

VAMPI's 2011 annual education conference promises that attendees will learn how to leverage generation gaps and gender differences for personal growth and successful events, understand how to incorporate fundraising and community giving into programs and business and how to incorporate the newest technology and media sites into business and events.

Truhlar's presentation, Auction Technology and Trends: Tools and tricks That Get Guests to Give, focuses on benefit auction technology. In recent years, tools of all sorts have hit the charity auction circuit and a whirlwind of press has surrounded the newcomers. In her talk, Truhlar will simplify the mass of vendors pushing their products into the fundraising auction space and explain when to use what tool and why.

"I frequently hear from auction chairs that it is difficult to know what these new gadgets do. They want to understand what is best for their guests, their organization and their event," said Truhlar. "I have a developed a more strategic approach to help auction planners evaluate what these trendy tools can offer to an event and I am happy to share that insider information."

VAMPI attendees will hear from Truhlar on Thursday, August 18 at the Crowne Plaza Hampton Marina, 700 Settlers Landing Road, Hampton, Virginia.

This is a return trip to VAMPI's meetings for Truhlar. She previously presented Irresistible Fundraising: Strategies To Get Guests To Throw Down Their Cash at the group's monthly meeting in March.
