DALLAS, TX. August 2, 2010. Running a growing Dallas-based office supply company and raising two young daughters does not leave VitecOnline's owners, Craig and Tammy Foy, with much time on their hands. But when Passion for Children's (PFC) approached the Foys with a plea to help support children and their families dealing with illness, Craig and Tammy pledged to raise $5,000 for Children's Medical Center. VitecOnline's three-month fundraising campaign begins July 19 and ends October 9 with the Red Balloon Run & Relay.

Passion for Children's, a non-profit organization, promotes grassroots fundraising programs exclusively for Children's Medical Center of Dallas. Campaign participants can choose the specific program, service, clinic or research center that they are most passionate about to support. Being able to decide where they make a direct impact was part of PFC's appeal for the Foys and VitecOnline.

"To get started, we toured Children's Medical Center because Craig and I wanted to personally see the research, innovation and specialized care the hospital provides patients and their families. We wanted to know what makes Children's special, and we certainly found out," states Tammy.

Children's Medical Center is a private, not-for-profit, academic healthcare facility located in North Texas. The Center is one of the largest pediatric healthcare providers in the nation-serving over 400,000 children annually with over 50 specialty programs-and it is the only pediatric Level 1 trauma center in the Southwest.

Touched by what they learned during the tour, as well as their family's own recent experience with cancer, the Foys and the VitecOnline team decided to focus on Children's Medical Center's Center for Blood and Cancer Disorders. Tammy explains, "It is heart breaking to see the children, tall and short, teenagers and infants, some very sick and some on the road to recovery, whose lives have been drastically altered as a result of an unforeseeable and uncontrollable illness."

Still in the early stages of fundraising, VitecOnline is quickly climbing up the Top 10 Teams list toward their $5,000 goal. The Foys plan to reach their mark by enlisting the help of their customers nationwide and through sponsorships for their relay team. A link on the VitecOnline website invites visitors to donate directly or customers can contribute by adding $1.00 to their order total. Employees, customers, friends, family and neighbors are encouraged to walk with or sponsor the team at the Children's Medical Center Red Balloon Run & Relay.

Show support or follow VitecOnline team's progress on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. Event registration fees, corporate funding and private donations cover all of PFC's campaign costs so every cent of the money raised goes directly to Children's Medical Center. "Together we are going to make a difference and effect change, providing hope for children dealing with cancer," assures Tammy.

VitecOnline sells "everything for every office" including office supplies, printer supplies, office furniture, medical supplies, janitorial materials, computer technology and custom printing. Next day nationwide delivery of over 55,000 online catalogue items makes the Dallas-based company a major contender in the business supplies industry.
