Voltus Hires Scary Good Global Energy Markets and Business Operations Leader
BOSTON, October 31, 2017 (Newswire.com) - Voltus, Inc., the leading provider of cash-generating energy products, announced today that it has hired Dana Guernsey as Vice President of Market and Business Operations. Dana will be responsible for helping Voltus deliver on its commitment to doubling the dollars customers earn by participating in demand response.
“Demand response markets are complicated, ever-evolving, and require deep energy markets expertise to create innovative, yet simple, offerings for customers,” said Matt Plante, President of Voltus. “It’s not hyperbole to say that Dana created many of the demand-side innovations in energy markets that allowed customers to maximize their financial return from demand response. The fact that she’s joining our team, at the exact time that our competitors are losing their best people, is why customers are leaving their current provider for Voltus. We’re thrilled to have her join the team.”

Through her experience in leadership roles at EnerNOC, Ambri, and FirstFuel, Dana has distinguished herself as an energy domain thought leader and product innovator, making meaningful impacts in demand response, energy storage, and energy efficiency. In the state recognized as the U.S. leader in energy efficiency by the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy, Dana was recognized as a Mass High Tech “Woman to Watch” in 2014 for her groundbreaking work in the energy and technology industries. Dana is also a board member of The Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth’s Corporate Collaboration Council, from which Dana earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in engineering.
“The demand response industry lost a lot of talent over the past few years as utilities and generators consolidated the industry in the wake of the FERC 745 battle. Many of those DR companies became a ghost town of talent because the best and brightest innovators and architects of distributed energy resources experienced the obvious disconnect of a supply-side advocate owning a demand-side innovator,” added Gregg Dixon, Voltus CEO. “We’re very lucky to have attracted Dana back into the industry. Put simply, the competition should be spooked she’s on the team.”
“Though what we do to optimize demand response for customers is inherently complicated, Voltus’s offering to customers is very, very simple. Voltus is the only provider that’s fully transparent and fully capable of delivering maximum dollars to customers. Voltus is exactly where I belong and I’m excited to deliver more cash from less energy!” said Guernsey.
