Volunteers Get Pumped Up for OKC Memorial Marathon

Team Spinhead will be a large presence in the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon this weekend. The way-finding signs provided by Team Spinhead will guide participants through the course.

Do you like to know where your next turn will be as you wind your way through our great city? With over 24,000 participants hitting the streets, it can be tough to pick out the support staff from the cheering fans… no matter how colorful the T-shirts. The answer: Expect to see giant "Inflatable Volunteers" along the course that literally tower above the crowds at the 2014 Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon.

TEAM Spinhead®, an emerging small business from Denver, Colorado, is the newest addition to this year's important fundraiser for the Museum. Standing 10-feet tall and wearing bright safety orange from head to toe are dozens and dozens of fun, stick-figure shapes that clearly point the way to go. These patented and patents pending way-finding signs are rigid inflatables capable of enduring whatever wind and weather crosses their path without complaining, getting tired and hungry or needing a bathroom break. Only the runners will be doing the dancing as they cross the finish line!!!

Each Spinhead® "sign" faithfully serves to alert, inform and direct all people impacted without the clutter of multiple postings. An element of fun is added to help ease and humanized the roadway disruption. You will be pleased just how quickly and cleanly the streets get back to normal. Safety plus vital information is provided for participants and motorists alike without putting a single live person directly in harm's way.

Cheers go out to the incredible Memorial Marathon staff who boldly stepped up the game for all future running events by being the first in the country to place these sustainable signs on every turn of their 5k, half and marathon courses. The potential for really high winds near Lake Hefner will also debut Zone Crew® Safety Signs, metal versions of the same shape with a highly reflective surface treatment that is highly visible day or night.

You will be able to see these pointing giants from more than eight blocks away. And if for some reason your mind forgets that April 27th is race day, a quick look to any of the heads appearing this Saturday will tell you the reason for all the roadway commotion plus recognize the key supporters of this engaging nonprofit that benefits people from around this great globe through our Memorial Museum.
