Votela Expands In Annapolis By Way Of New Partnerships With Both Siemens Enterprise Communications And Level 3 Communications

Expansion of VOIP Telecommunications firm in Annapolis fueled by new product offering in partnership with major industry players.

The Annapolis Economic Development Corporation ("AEDC") is pleased to share that Votela, an Annapolis-based VOIP Telecommunications firm, recently announced the expansion of their product offerings by securing very pivotal partnerships with both Siemens Enterprise Communications and Level 3 Communications.

"The Annapolis Economic Development Corporation is very honored that Votela announced the exciting news of these partnerships at our Education Seminar at Rams Head On Stage. This is a testament to the great things that can be accomplished when we work in collaboration with the Anne Arundel Economic Development Corporation and the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development. We are very excited for this growing company and look forward to the new jobs and increased revenues in the City.", stated Lara Fritts, President and CEO of the Annapolis Economic Development Corporation.

Votela announced its partnership with both Siemens Enterprise Communications and Level 3 Communications. These partnerships provide Votela an opportunity to be first to market with the next generation of Hosted Voice over IP Telephony - to be called Votela Cloud Communications.

In the past, Hosted Voice over IP has been offered in pre-package per seat proprietary bundles with little or no options for customization to meet enterprise needs and therefore has been difficult for most enterprises with more than 20 employees to adopt. This presents an opportunity to address the unmet needs of the SMB (Small and Medium-Sized Business) and Small Enterprise markets.

Votela will continue to enhance its offerings in support of Siemens Enterprise Communications Cloud Services, bringing solution providers and MSPs (Major Service Providers) access to a comprehensive set of certified and tested technologies accessible via the Votela Portal. The Votela Portal in the final stages of development will allow partners and their customers access to hundreds or pre-certified components to customize and directly provision their communication solutions with all underlying technological and implementation complexity automated behind the scenes.

This new venture comes out of an existing Annapolis-based Communications company by the name of ABTech. ABTech has become a successful telecommunications company, serving the voice and data needs of companies throughout the United States and Canada. The company earned its reputation for providing innovative, enduring, cost-effective telephony and IT solutions and support services that are customized to meet our clients' needs and add value to their businesses. ABTech is a comprehensive telephony and IT solutions provider - whose capabilities range from assessment and design to implementation, management and support - with an existing customer base of more than 3000 cloud seats.

These two new partnerships will provide an estimated 100 new jobs by 2013 and an estimated sales volume in the millions. Adam Cole, President and CEO of Votela, stated, "We are extremely excited about working with each of these two companies to be first to market with a Tier 1 solution for enterprise cloud communications."

In part, this new endeavor is possible through financing and business assistance from the Anne Arundel Economic Development Corporation and the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development.

Mayor Josh Cohen stated, "This is a tremendous coup for the City of Annapolis and the Annapolis EDC. It represents an exciting technology advancement by a great locally owned company and a wonderful showcase of the partnership and spirit of collaboration between the City, County and the State. Votela's job creation and additional revenues estimates are fundamental keys to restoring public confidence in the viability of our local economy."

About the City of Annapolis
Whether you come for the history, the education, the water, or the hospitality, there is always something to enjoy in Annapolis. Experience the colonial capital city, known since its earliest days as the "Athens of America," where one could find a wealth of cultural activities, a glittering social season, gracious hospitality and intellectual stimulation. The small seaport brought visitors from around the world who shared the news of the day while enjoying the ambiance and tidewater cuisine. You will find the same atmosphere today, with over 36,000 residents, and drawing more than four million people a year to our shores. Annapolis has been welcoming visitors for more than 300 years. ###
