Washington SmartCEO Recognizes ASM Research As A 2012 GOVstar Finalist

ASM Research has been selected a finalist for the prestigious GOVstar award.

ASM Research has been selected a finalist for the prestigious GOVstar award. Government contracting is an extremely competitive and growing industry in the Greater Washington market, and the federal government is the largest consumer of products and services in the U.S. The GOVstar awards recognize the many commendable attributes of the Greater Washington-area companies that strive for excellence in this complex and competitive sector. The finalists, who were chosen by an independent panel of judges, will be featured in the October issue of SmartCEO magazine and celebrated at the GOVstar Awards ceremony on October 18, 2012 at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City.

ASM is being recognized in the Technical Trailblazer, Large Category for its innovative technology and breakthroughs on its longest-standing contract, the Army Training Requirements and Resources System (ATRRS). ATRRS provides an easy-to-use, intuitive, modern business intelligence environment used to help the U.S. Army efficiently train the world's most elite military personnel. More than 46,000 personnel currently rely on this system to track the training activities of more than 3 million graduates.

ASM developed three specific innovative components to ATRRS: the Unit Automated Reservation System, the iBIS web applications, and a WebFOCUS reporting module. These components have increased the Army's efficiency, reduced costs, better equipped it to analyze critical data, and reduced development efforts.

"We're proud to continue providing innovative solutions to this important Army system, as we have since its inception-a phenomenal track record in the competitive IT Solutions Federal Contract sector," said John Fraser, ASM's COO and President. ASM has been selected through six full and open competitive awards over the past 30 years and was most recently awarded a sole source three-year contract.

The GOVstar program, now in its third year of celebration in Washington, kicked off with a nomination process ending this past May. SmartCEO created the GOVstar program to honor local government contracting firms for their technology innovation, workplace environment, growth, veteran support and contributions to the industry and marketplace. SmartCEO donates a portion of the event proceeds to The Wounded EOD Warrior Foundation, a nonprofit organization that provides assistance to our Wounded EOD Warriors and their families in the form of financial relief.
