Waste Concern Expands Business Services Into Scotland In Support Of Zero Waste Plans
Online, June 7, 2011 (Newswire.com) - The initiative sets out the Scottish Government's vision for a zero waste society. This vision describes a Scotland where all waste is seen as a resource. Waste is minimised, valuable resources are not disposed of in landfills, and most refuse is sorted, leaving only limited amounts to be treated.
Established in direct response to problems consumers face with their refuse collection arrangements, Waste Concern believes that there is a valuable resource in waste and that it should not just be disposed of in landfill or left on streets to become unsightly and unsanitary.
Spencer Feldman, CEO of Waste Concern, said: "We truly believe that there shouldn't be a need to landfill any waste. There is such a valuable commodity in waste as a resource and energy producer. That is why our waste collections are taken to conscientious centres and waste is sorted for reuse as much as feasibly possible.
"We offer a one bin solution that enables customers to easily recycle and generate very little waste, but with the convenience of one bin which allows households ease of mind and simplicity. As a private company, we are not constrained in the same way as local authorities and therefore we can offer our clients total flexibility."
