Wastewater Treatment Contract Awarded to Biwater in the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria

Today, Biwater have announced the award of a new wastewater treatment contract, which will serve over 100,000 residents in Constantine, the 'City of Bridges', in The People's Democratic Republic of Algeria h

Biwater has secured a contract in Constantine, in Northeastern Algeria, which will provide the province with a wastewater treatment plant serving over 100,000 residents in the 'City of Bridges'.

This achievement comes after the Group was awarded a ductile iron pipe contract last November, supporting efforts to improve supplies of potable water to Setif City, which is in close proximity to Constantine.

In Constantine, Biwater will commence works in July on the new wastewater treatment plant, which will incorporate pre-treatment, low speed aerators, clarifiers and sludge dewatering by belt filters.

"This conventional wastewater treatment facility will serve our client Wilaya of Constantine, and the city's residents for years to come. We look forward to commencing the project and delivering these vital works," said Mohammed Allouani, General Manager for Biwater in Algiers.

Mr. Allouani added, "Working extensively in the region, and in Algeria itself, we continue to deliver on successful water infrastructure projects. Our works in Constantine go hand-in-hand with similar wastewater treatment works which we are currently handling, mainly in Zeralda, Ain-Oulmene and Salah Bey in Algeria."
