Watershed Restoration Innovator WSI Teams Up With Cimbria Consulting

Water Science Institute (WSI), a Pennsylvania-based entity specializing in science-based watershed restoration solutions, today announced its new partnership with Cimbria Consulting – a recently founded consultancy platform and affiliate of private equity firm Cimbria Capital. The collaboration between Cimbria Consulting and WSI seeks to enhance the visibility of WSI services and projects, and advance existing WSI environmental impact modeling of resilient watershed infrastructure projects.

“On behalf of the WSI and its Board of Trustees, we are excited to join with Cimbria Consulting in further enhancing our core data development strengths and economic analysis capabilities to promote sustainable, market-tested solutions to environmental problems,” said Joseph Sweeney, Executive Director of WSI. “Cimbria’s management and financial expertise provides WSI with an enhanced capability to leverage our scientific strengths on a capital markets platform.”

WSI's talented team of scientists, GIS and data development specialists, economists, programmers and partnerships have developed unique 'blended value strategies' for use by stakeholders interested in enhancing water quality, soil, habitat, and stormwater management.

As policymakers and corporations seek solutions to solve pervasive water-related issues, new water models are being developed and tested. There is a growing consensus among value investors and purpose-driven organizations that unrealized gains can be achieved through the design, restoration, management, and monitoring of watersheds and natural infrastructure rehabilitation projects. Sustainable, long-term approaches are needed to support the country's critical infrastructure needs.

“WSI’s talented team of scientists, GIS and data development specialists, economists, programmers and partnerships have developed unique ‘blended value strategies’ for use by stakeholders interested in improving water quality, soil, habitat, and stormwater management,” stated Noah Sabich, Senior Advisor to Cimbria Consulting. “We are excited to help WSI reach their full potential nationwide as they expand new water management approaches through sustainable landscapes.”

Green infrastructure solutions represent viable impact investment opportunities while both transforming the future of water security and fostering economic growth. The key to success, for organizations specializing in environmental regenerative systems, is to collaborate with commercial partners that create, communicate, and provide lasting value for stakeholders.
