Welcome Mutt Awards to Name Best Dog Supplies as Voted by Dog Owners
The online retailer hopes to determine which dog products are considered the best in quality and value based on dog owners' real-world experiences.
Online, February 9, 2012 (Newswire.com) - Online dog supplies retailer The Welcome Mutt has announced their first annual Welcome Mutt Awards to name the best dog products of the year as determined by their shoppers.
Award categories include Best Dog Training Product, Best Dog Grooming Product and Best Dog Entertainer, among others. Voters can select their favorites and then view the current results to see how their selections are faring in the competition.
"Dog owners are constantly testing out new dog supplies to find the best ones for their particular dog," explained co-owner Danielle Mead. "We know that some products sell better than others, but that doesn't always mean they are the best when it comes to quality, durability and value. We want to find out which products our shoppers have found to be stand-outs in their categories."
Anyone can participate in the Welcome Mutt Awards by visiting the company's website at www.welcomemutt.com and voting in as many award categories as they'd like. Each category has three nominees to choose from, with a photo and link to more information about each product. The Best Overall Dog Product category has six nominees, including the Thundershirt calming system, Dry Dog Instant Clean Spray-on Shampoo, Premier's Eco Easy Walk Harness, The Rock dog toy, Liver Biscotti dog treats and the BooBooLoon Inflatable Dog Recovery Collar.
"Picking the nominees was a challenge because there are so many great dog products available," said co-owner Matthew Goodman. "We looked at a combination of sales popularity, reviews across the web and any features that made products unique, such as eco-friendly materials or American-based manufacturing."
Award winners will be announced on February 26, 2012 and given special discount pricing on the company's website to celebrate their win. The Welcome Mutt hopes to host the awards every spring to coincide with entertainment awards shows, which are typically held in January or February.
