When a young boy named Orrin Cohen stumbles upon a large humanoid footprint on the backside of his family’s ranch while out checking on the young steers after his father and mother are killed in a stagecoach robbery he believes it to be the bigfoot his brother told him about. Not wanting to be called a yellow-belly by his brother Samuel he follows the trail into a Horseshoe Canyon. A huge thunder storm rolls in, spooking his horse. When the rain begins to pour from the sky he knows he must find a way to get out of he canyon or he will be killed by the coming flash flood. As he is searching for a way out, his horse steps in a crack, breaking its ankle and trapping itself. Orrin is forced to put his horse down with his fathers rifle and continue down the canyon on foot. He escapes the flash flood by climbing a chimney in the rock. In the morning he hears something coming up the canyon floor and hopes it is his brother or Rusty, the foreman of the ranch. What comes around the corner is not what he expected, but turns out to be an unlikely friend.
