What Happens When Your Favorite Social Network Vanishes?

The leading social networking site, Pinoy Kubo dot com, has vanished. Members of this site are wondering why their favorite cyber hang-out seemed to have disappeared. We have the answers.

Filpino migrants all over the planet are missing their favorite cyber hang-out, Pinoy Kubo dot com and members of this social network are feeling "Pinoy Kubo withdrawal symptoms " as the site went down days ago. Members of the site have tried looking for each other via other social networks but nothing managed to relax them more than a statement from Pinoy Kubo founder Jonathan Sowah that the site will be back and operational come midnight, December 8, Philippine time.

Sowah, who is also the CEO of Canada's AstraQom, a leading ITT company, explained that Pinoy Kubo did not disappear and that he decided to sell it to the US company Iniche. In a statement Sowah explained:" AstraQom decided to sell Pinoy Kubo to Iniche because we realize that Iniche is more into social networking niches and they do have the statistics, demographics and resources to make Pinoy Kubo a premier networking site."

He added that as founded of Pinoy Kubo he would still be tasked to play a huge role in the development of the said social network he designed for some 40 million Filipino migrants all over the globe. Sowah, also fondly called Big J by his friends said, " The new Pinoy Kubo will be ready by December 18 and that will give people adequate time to get acquainted with the new site. It will have features like interactive gaming and a more efficient chat. It will give members more space for vides, podcasts and music...aside from the fun, we shall also have news and current events and discussions about issues....while we shall have Philippine news we also will have global news because we know that there are 40 million Filipinos all over the globe and these people are affected by what goes on, not only in the Philippines but in other parts of the world as well. For instance, the US Presidential elections will affect Filipino-American communities in the USA much as whatever is happening in the Middle East will certainly affect Philippine workers and migrants there."

Sowah believes that startups like Pinoy Kubo should have a social cause and he said , "the social cause will always be there... Pinoy Kubo is and will always be known as the GOOD social network because it is geared for Filipino workers who ay be missing their loved ones and families at home. It is suited for these people who need to talk in their own language or dialect, hear their own songs, and even celebrate their own Christmas, though it be in cyberspace."

He added that on December 8, as Pinoy Kubo moves on to beta 3, people can have fun having their own cyber-Christmas parties, caroling and "simply having a feel of Christmas in the Philippines. "

"Of course we wil also have a lot of new activities like contests, social causes, helping livelihood startups. We are presently taking with companies, not only in the Philippines, but also abroad who may wish to offer us coupons... because Filipinos are practically everywhere. We will also make sure that gaming will be better and that everything will be more interactive than the previous Pinoy Kubo version... there will be better applications , games, blog templates as we expect the start of a new and better year for all of us who love Pinoy Kubo, " he said.

"Pinoy Kubo loyalists will realize it was worth the wait as December 18 approaches and they log in, they will be surprised and this is our gift to our loyal friends and members, " Sowah concluded.
