Washington, DC actually claims a 70 percent singles rate, which makes it the best area, not state, for single people looking for love. The states with the worst ratios are Idaho and Utah with 40 percent single rates.

The study went on to site that you have fifteen minutes to make a lasting first impression if you are a woman. If you are a man, you get a little leeway. Women usually take about an hour to decide if you're they're going to make a second date.
