The more you understand about the overall business of the movie industry, the greater your chances for succeeding in the world of screenwriting will be.

Does it seem like there may be a lot of legwork involved with learning the fundamentals of the movie industry? In many ways, there is a lot of work. However, the effort will be worth it considering it enhances your potential for selling screenplays.

I would say, that there also needs to be a little patience involved with selling screenplays. As much as a writer would like to see a screenwriting career take off as soon as possible, the fact remains this is usually not the case. So, a lot of patience is required to see success occur since it rarely occurs overnight.

And never, ever give up. No, this is more than just a cliched phrase. It is the absolute truth! If you wish to succeed in the realm of screenwriting, you will need to stick to it until you reach your goals. Doing anything less would be little more than defeating yourself.
