Wiley-Blackwell has formed a publishing partnership with the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and will publish the three APS flagship journals - Australian Journal of Psychology, Australian Psychologist and Clinical Psychologist - from 2011

Wiley-Blackwell, the scientific, technical, medical and scholarly publishing business of John Wiley & Sons, Inc (NYSE: JWa), (NYSE: JWb) today announced that had formed a publishing partnership with the Australian Psychological Society (APS). Wiley-Blackwell will publish the three APS flagship journals - Australian Journal of Psychology, Australian Psychologist and Clinical Psychologist - from 2011.

The partnership will bring a proactive publishing agenda that fully supports the APS's strategic mission to expand its profile and influence regionally and worldwide; to protect standards of excellence in psychological practice; and to showcase the best psychological research and practice from the region.

Together, Wiley-Blackwell and the APS will focus on driving the profile, impact and professional relevance of each of the three flagship journals, with a strong emphasis on differentiation and individual journal development. Clinical Psychologist and Australian Psychologist will be specifically repositioned to deliver high-quality, practitioner-friendly content, while the focus for Australian Journal of Psychology will continue to be on growing the Journal's impact and international reach.

Vice President and Managing Director for Social Sciences and Humanities at Wiley-Blackwell, Philip Carpenter, said, "The Australian Psychological Society is a fast-growing, progressive society and an international force in global psychology. Supported by Wiley-Blackwell's local, regional and global teams, the APS is poised to further expand its influence in Asia-Pacific and beyond. Not only do we have the capability to provide expert local support in Australia, but we also have deep, longstanding relationships in place that we can draw upon to extend the Society's reach in the Asia-Pacific region and beyond."

The addition of these journals to Wiley-Blackwell's portfolio further strengthens its position as the world's leading publisher for societies and organizations focused on delivering the best quality research in psychology and mental health.
