Wine and Art Studio Boosts Arts for Bucktown School
Online, May 3, 2012 (Newswire.com) - Bottle & Bottega, a BYOB art studio in Lakeview, and the students of CICS Bucktown Charter School will unveil a large student-painted mural at their Spring Carnival on May 23rd at 1:30pm. The mural, consisting of twenty-five (25) 16x20 canvases that will form a 6' x 8' mural, was donated by Bottle & Bottega in January, designed by one of its artists Julita Danielewicz, and has been hand-painted by the students of CICS Bucktown during art classes over the past few months as a reward for good behavior. The mural design depicts CICS Bucktown school, their mascot the eagle, and the school's six pillars: Respect, Caring, Responsibility, Trustworthiness, Fairness and Citizenship.
"Bottle & Bottega is immensely proud to be a part of this project," says Stephanie King-Myers, Co-owner, COO/President of Bottle & Bottega. "With art education suffering from budget cuts in recent years, we've made it part of our mission to ensure children of our community have as much exposure as possible to such an essential part of their development."
Students in each grade at CICS Bucktown have worked as a team since January to paint a section of the mural during art class, but only if their good behavior has warranted the honor. The May 23rd festivities will reveal the results of their collaborative efforts with the unveiling of the 6x8-foot mural during their Spring Carnival in the school's gymnasium at 1:30pm where it will hang for future students and parents to enjoy.
Bottle & Bottega combines multiple forms of hands-on art instruction from artists, primarily for adults, with the enjoyment of wine, creating lasting memories for guests. Whether a bridal party, birthday celebration, team-building or conference activity, date night or gathering of friends, it's fun, fresh and inspiring.
