WINTERHELLER software awards EUR 5,000 scholarship

WINTERHELLER software awards EUR 5,000 scholarship for the Ã-CI Advanced Controlling Program, and aims to support women in controlling.

Vienna, September 2009 // Looking back on more than 20 years of market experience, WINTERHELLER software is a leading provider of software solutions in the fields of Business Intelligence and Corporate Performance Management. By awarding a scholarship for the Ã-CI Advanced Controlling Program, the company aims to support women in controlling. A panel of Ã-CI experts chose Mag. Sylvia Pichler, Constantia Flexibles Holding GmbH, from among the numerous candidates.

New concept and content:
The Advanced Controlling Program 2009/2010 was conceptually adapted to the current challenges and trends. This course aims to equip controllers with the skills required to successfully take over the role of business partner who will be increasingly involved in informing and advising management in complex decisions.
The course concept as well as the content is designed to prepare controllers to fulfill the expectations placed on them in businesses nowadays:
• the controller as business partner (behavior-oriented controlling aspects)
• strategy, value and risk orientation in controlling
• effectiveness + efficiency = professionalism in the core processes of controlling
• controlling and accounting: harmonization between internal and external accounting in the IFRS context

These four topics will be the focus of the Advanced Controlling Program. In addition, controlling lounges will offer the opportunity to talk to experts. The knowledge will be primarily transferred using interactive elements. Solving comprehensive case studies will also be a central part of the course. Analyses of difficult situations, role plays and discussions in small groups will round off the methodical concept.

"Improving one's knowledge and skills based on high personal commitment and using them in companies is more than remarkable. To support such a commitment is a great thing to do. If we can contribute to it, it will be our pleasure. The fact that there is a special program for women shows that we still think in two categories - grant programs and grant programs for women. I look forward to the day when this is no longer necessary," says Irmgard Weinhandl, Board of Directors at WINTERHELLER software Beteiligungs AG.
