Wireless Startup Crayon Interface Keeps Families Connected Through Innovative Solutions for Latch Key Kids and Now....Teen Drivers.

Traffic accidents are the leading cause of death for teenagers. Wireless startup Crayon Interface aims to reduce traffic related deaths and injuries with a new telematics solution that provides ongoing safety training for teenage drivers.

(Holland, MI - February 16, 2010) - Crayon Interface, a leading provider of software and service for controlling and monitoring home and vehicle environments, has introduced a new offering for teen drivers and their parents. The program, called Copilot provides parents with peace of mind by monitoring the driving behavior of their teenagers through an innovative telematics solution. Crayon Interface created Copilot as a training tool aimed at the 12.5 million teen drivers on U.S. roadways who are in the process of developing safe driving skills. Copilot is an easy to install device that plugs into a standard port found in all vehicles built after 1995 and it monitors drivers' behavior through PCs and mobile applications. With Copilot, parents can instantly locate their teen driver, receive alerts when teens are driving aggressively, set geo-fence boundaries and generate reports on driving behavior. Copilot provides real-time monitoring of the vehicle and is an effective tool for creating a Graduate Drivers License (GDL) report which is required for new drivers in 49 states. Copilot's mobile application is widely available on several mobile platforms including Blackberry, Windows Mobile, iPhone, Android and Java phones.

"Copilot is the answer for every parent concerned about their teen driver," said Garrick Pohl, Crayon Interface's CEO. "As parents ourselves, the team at Crayon Interface is dedicated to providing innovative solutions for helping active families stay connected. We're pleased to introduce Copilot, a reliable and easy-to-use training tool to help reduce the incidence of car accidents, which is the number one cause of death for teenagers."

Crayon Interface's solutions for keeping families connected extends beyond the vehicle. In 2009, Crayon Interface, in partnership with Schlage Lock Company, introduced Schlage LiNK , the industry's first internet-enabled door lock, accessed through PCs and mobile applications. Schlage LiNK runs on Crayon Interface's messaging platform and provides a practical solution for latch key kids and their parents. With Schlage LiNK, parents can be alerted when children enter the home after school and parents can monitor children remotely via cameras connected to Crayon Interface's network. Schlage LiNK is available through more than 5,000 retail stores nationwide, including Lowes and Radio Shack.

"Crayon Interface's efforts over the past few years have focused around delivering our award winning technology platform to offerings that provide safety, security and overall peace of mind to active families," said Kevin Virta, Crayon Interface's EVP of Business Development. "Whether you're looking to protect your family at home or on the road, Crayon Interface provides innovative, yet practical solutions to help families stay connected!"
