Women Account For 100% Of The Management Roles At The Kelly Hager Group
2013 is the year of the woman business owner, The Kelly Hager Group Reports
Online, March 25, 2013 (Newswire.com) - This year it is expected that more women will become business owners than ever before. In a study conducted by the National Association of Women Business Owners it is predicted that there will be more entrepreneurial activity this year than was experienced in 2012.
According to the study just released, women are joining male dominated industries and new opportunities are more readily available that did not previously exist. Unemployment numbers have aided in the increase of entrepreneurship as more women are looking for alternatives to a corporate lifestyle.
The Kelly Hager Group has been a woman led business for nearly ten years. Its leadership team comprised of all women has won many awards and experienced tremendous success during its history. The Kelly Hager Group also experienced a growth, with a recent job fair to hire 40 new employees in the first quarter of 2013. Of those newly created positions 72 percent were offered to women. The percentage of men working at The Kelly Hager Group equal 29 percent of the total workforce.
"This is a great time to be a woman running your own business," said Kelly Hager, CEO of The Kelly Hager Group. "It is very rewarding to be a positive role model for young ladies and show them that women can be powerful and successful in running their own business and in their private lives. Luckily for me, I had a mother to learn business from at a time when there were not too many around. I hope my role will be encouraging for young ladies who are looking for personal fulfillment as they head up their own companies."
According to an article published by Forbes, women business owners are more optimistic about their success in 2013 than they were for 2012. They also stated that in 1997 there were 5.4 million women-owned businesses and that number climbed to 7.8 million in 2007.
The article also mentions that the growth of the internet and social media has helped entrepreneurs. Women feel that social media marketing and search engine optimization is the key to making their businesses successful. Women are skilled at navigating social media at sites like Pinterest, Facebook and Instagram compared to their male counterparts. For women, they see the value in each social networking site and use those outlets effectively in their marketing efforts.
If trends are correct it looks like 2013 is going to be a powerful year for women who are starting their own business.
