Women Adventurers Invited to Raft the Rogue River

Experience the solitude and beauty of the Oregon's Rogue on this women-only soft adventure.

WanderTours announces its 4-day women-only Rogue River rafting adventure from September 9 - 12, 2012. Experience the flora and fauna of the picturesque Rogue River and take in the rugged scenery of the mountain ranges surrounding this famous Southern Oregon river. Whether this is a first river trip or 5th, it is not to be missed by anyone who enjoys the outdoors.

Sightings of abundant wildlife such as deer, river otter and a wide variety of bird species including Great Blue Heron, Bald Eagles and Osprey are to be expected during the trip.

Participants will be serenaded to sleep by the melodic sounds of the rushing river and a chorus of crickets - all while camping on one of the many sandy beaches that line the river.

Both beginners and experienced rafters are guaranteed to find thrills at the Rogue's Blossom Bar and Rainie Falls. The more daring may navigate their own inflatable kayaks for a personal encounter with the rapids while still in a safe environment. Grandmothers and granddaughters alike will no doubt enjoy all that the Rogue has to offer.

The Rogue River is one of the first to be protected by the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act of 1968. A visit to the Historic Rogue River Ranch, a museum of human history, is included in the itinerary.

The tour is open to a maximum of 15 women and will be led by Joslin Fritz. Says Joslin, "Even after more than 50 trips down the Rogue, I consider it to be my all time-favorite among U.S. rivers. I continue to be riveted by its beauty." With a vast knowledge of interpretive natural history of the area and plenty of delicious food and wine for camp, Joslin looks forward to sharing the Rogue with participants.
