Women Of Influence Tea

Atlanta, GA - Atlanta-based WEDA (Women's Economic Development Agency) announces its inaugural Women of Influence Fall Tea on Saturday, November 5, 2011 from 1:00 - 4:00pm at the Thalia N. Carlos Community Center located at 2500 Clairmont Road, A

WEDA's Women of Influence Tea will spotlight some of the organization's most successful alumni and business women in the community. Women from all over the State of Georgia are invited to attend this event. Guests will enjoy an afternoon of Tea Sandwiches (a variety of small savory sandwiches), unique hot teas served in individual tea pots, a delicious mini dessert bar, champagne, live jazz entertainment and red carpet festivities. Founded in 1996, WEDA is non-profit organization with the mission to help women achieve economic independence, create opportunity, and, build a business community through entrepreneurship. The organization's mission is supported by a program of innovative seminars, workshops, and our cornerstone AMI course series. WEDA offers its programs and services in both English and Spanish. Although the organization centers on women, it serves an ethnic and gender-diverse clientele. WEDA also assists clients from all socio-economic backgrounds.

Through a partnership with the Small Business Administration, WEDA has assisted more than 17,000 entrepreneurs and has helped to facilitate the formation of thousands of small businesses. These businesses range from home-based, cottage industries, like jewelry-making, to retail ventures and attorney practices. WEDA's programs and services include business development, wealth building, and customized training and licensing. In the past 6 years, WEDA clients have created over 1300 businesses and accessed over $8.5 million in commercial funding.
