Women's Fitness Wear Entrepreneur Judges Miss Plus USA Pageant

Katie Kozloff, owner and founder of Taffy Activewear, recently had the honor of serving as a judge for the first-ever Miss Plus USA pageant in Seattle, Washington this past August.

The Miss Plus USA pageant featured contestants from 22 states, three regions and the U.S. Territories of American Samoa and Puerto Rico. Contestants were judged in four categories: active wear, evening gown, interview, and personal character.

“It was an honor for me to act as a judge for this pageant,” said Kozloff. “Miss Plus USA is dedicated to showing women of all sizes that they can live an active and healthy lifestyle. This is also why I started Taffy.”

"Miss Plus USA and Taffy have the shared goal of creating a better life for active, plus-size women. Because of this, I was excited to contribute all of the fashions used in the pageant during the active wear portion of the competition."

In addition to serving as a judge, Kozloff provided all of the fitness wear for the competition as Taffy served as one of the official sponsors of the pageant.

Founded in 2010 by Kozloff, Taffy Activewear is a stylish women’s line designed specifically and exclusively for plus-size women from sizes 1X to 3X. The line began development over five years ago when Kozloff, while working as a trainer, noticed that many of her female clients over size 12 had a difficult time finding stylish, flattering active wear and often wore oversized T-shirts and sweats. Knowing first-hand from her clients how important it is to look good and feel confident in the gym or anywhere, Kozloff decided to create a women’s active wear line that finally met the need for attractive plus-size active wear.

“Every woman wants to look cute and stylish, no matter her size,” Kozloff said. “We feel there is a connection between looking good and feeling attractive. It’s motivation to live a healthy lifestyle.”

Taffy pieces are versatile and can be used for running, yoga, spin class, and more. The fit and design are fun and flattering, so even running errands before or after a workout is not out of the question. Find Taffy Activewear online at ShopTaffy.com
