WordPress Releases Its New Version 3.4
WordPress unveils its latest 3.4 version, providing a host of striking features like- ability to test themes before applying it to the website and add HTML code to put captions on the images.
Online, June 27, 2012 (Newswire.com) - It's quite a known fact that the top blogging site of the World, WordPress regularly keeps updating itself for an enhanced user experience. And yet again in a recent development, it has unveiled its new version 3.4, built by a group of volunteer developers in conjunction with Automattic. Going by the trend of naming its new releases after jazz musicians, the long awaited version 3.4, has also been appropriately christened after guitarist Grant Green; besides, a host of interesting features like, adding HTML to caption pictures and testing themes before applying them into the blogs have been included.
According to a research by a web service firm, it is found that WordPress is one of the most widely used blogging platforms with half of the world's blogs being hosted on it. A reason why people have increasingly started going for PSD to HTML and PSD to WordPress conversions to get exact web pages as their image designs. Hence, to provide its users with a dynamic, perpetually enhanced blogging experience, the developers associated with the platform keep releasing its new versions in an interval of every three to four months. However, version 3.4 is the first major release since the launch of version 3.3 back in the month of December, 2011, said a report.
According to Matt Mullenweg, the co-founder of WordPress, the new theme customizer feature, offered by the latest version is one of the major additions in this version that enables the users to play around with the looks of their blogs before applying or publishing them. He also added that, the ready-made theme incorporated in this version has minimized the trouble of selecting the background and images as was required in its earlier versions. The themes supported by this latest version allows users to change color, background, and image headers.
Explaining on the other features of the version, Mullenweg said that the blogging platform would add some more features to the version in the future. However, the ability to incorporate HTML code to photo captions will let the users effectively configure the captions into pieces and include links in it. The other features include: capability to identify links to individual Twitter messages, performance enhancements and Developer optimizations.
