Work for Black Female Artists
VenusHouse Publishers - an independent publishing house - is ready for Black female artists for their October 15th anthology.
Online, September 6, 2010 (Newswire.com) - VenusHouse Publishers - a newborn Black run publishing house who's mission is to give voice to the trials, tribulations, stories, and events of urban Black women through anthologies by Black female writers is proud to announce it's birth into society.
"The anthologies are not only salvation for Black women but work for Black women writers", says founder, Paula Montgomery of her independent publishing company.
Think about the great return for the demographic: enlightenment and encouragement for VenusHouse's female audience, extra work and notoriety for the writers.
The startup publishing house is small but hopes to bring in artists based on it's integrity, diligence, and strong connection with both demographics due to it's founder, a Black female poet. It's as simple as sending your poet, short story, or book manuscript to [email protected]. It doesn't cost the artist anything but they do receive royalties on the sale of their publications.
"I'm looking forward to "bull-horning" our voices, having our communities associate our publications with art and truth and beauty," says Montgomery, "I'm ready to communicate, I'm ready to talk about issues in Black female society we don't often discuss like abortion, single motherhood, and initimate relationships between youth."
The company hopes to host signing parties, writer workshops, and online author-reader communication as part of it's development.
