Kurukshetra, the international techno-management fest of the College of Engineering, Guindy, Anna University Chennai is all set to break new ground with its trendsetting series of ten workshops in store this year. Kurukshetra, the only student managed technical fest to be under the patronage of UNESCO, is scheduled between January 20th and January 23rd. For the inquisitive minds that enjoy exploring by doing things this year's line up of workshops is sure to be a treat.
Robotics:
The RoboBeam workshop aims at shedding light on BEAM robotics, a relatively new field of robotics that uses minimalist electronics that mimic biological neurons which facilitate the robot's response to its working environment. The simplicity of BEAM construction allows people from all walks of life and levels of education to create very capable autonomous robots without prior knowledge in advanced robotics. If you are someone who is gung ho about legged bots then the RoboCrab workshop is definitely for you. Through RoboCrab you will practically build a legged bot and besides having fun, appreciate the synergy of mechanics, electronics and software.
For the adventure enthusiast in you, Kurukshetra brings the truly one-of-kind "Know your bike" workshop. Well, where else will you get the chance to rip a bike apart and learn the engineering behind it hands on?
Flying has always been man's fascination. Aero modeling workshop is here to satiate that desire. This workshop deals with all the essential knowledge related to aerodynamics and the participants will be given hands on experience in designing an Indoor-Glider.
Packaging is as important as the product inside. Pack-a-nova is for the novel minds that understand the importance of this.
The Entrepreneurship workshop- With eminent and experienced entrepreneurs like Ajit Balakrishnan, Founder, Chairman & CEO of Rediff.com sharing their story, we welcome you to this interactive session that can change your lives!
Technology workshops:
Kurukshetra also has a few that let you play with technology.
The Cloud Computing Workshop-John McCarthy opined that "computation may someday be organized as a public utility". True to that, everything, right from dabs of commercial cloud technologies to attractive hands-on sessions to train you on how to create your own Cloud is here in store.
Behind the Screen is a film technology workshop that will bring out the film maker in you. With stalwarts like Balumahendra and Lenin to handle the workshop, this is the place to be. Prove your stand in the short film contest that will be judged by them.
Imagine generating your own 3D model, seeing some awesome 3D movies and having fun while supposedly attending a workshop. That is 3D evolution for you.
Science behind magic is a workshop where eminent magician Solyl Kundu will explain the scientific logic behind magic and illusions. Solyl Kundu is the first and only Indian illusionist to have performed in Magic Castle, Hollywood. So get ready to be enthralled.
