Worlds Longest Rowing Shell to Make It's American Debut on Jordan Lake, NC
The worlds longest rowing shell, the Swiss made Stampfli Express will make its American debut on Jordan Lake, NC on September 14th. The Stampfli Express seats 24 rowers and is over 140 feet in length
Apex, NC, September 1, 2015 (Newswire.com) - The world famous Stämpfli Express 24x rowing shell arrives from Switzerland and will have its American debut on Jordan Lake, NC on September 14th, 2015. Dr. Felix Muhlebach, President of CHAOS Rowing club said “We are delighted that Stämpfli decided on Jordan Lake for the debut of the Stämpfli Express. It’s unique in rowing to have a rowing shell that can seat 24 rowers and a coxswain. The Stämpfli Express is basically three eight-person shells bolted together to form a rowing shell over 150 feet long.” Dr. Muhlebach said that the Stämpfli Express is very stable and even inexperienced people can learn to row this amazing boat.

CHAOS Rowing Club will be hosting the first CHAOS Challenge and is inviting rowing clubs from the Carolinas to take part in an informal race September 19th, 2015 at Jordan Lake, where competing clubs will be able to challenge the Stämpfli Express over a 1,000 meter course.

After Jordan Lake, the Stämpfli Express will be travelling to several US rowing regatta’s including the Head of the Charles (Boston), the Head of the Schuylkill (Philadelphia), and the Head of the Hooch (Chattanooga) before wrapping up with the Head of the South (Augusta). Dr. Muhlebach added “CHAOS Rowing club was formed to encourage rowers to take advantage of the terrific rowing conditions on Jordan Lake.
