WriteWork.com Launches Free Writing Guides to Help New College Students
Online, September 27, 2010 (Newswire.com) - In response to needs expressed by their extensive student community, WriteWork.com recently launched a series of writing guides. Written by accredited PhD Professors, these free guides give new college students a concise, hands-on introduction to writing college-level assignments.
"Many new college students struggle with their assignments in the beginning. Although they know that college standards are higher, they don't know what they have to do to live up to these standards. This is one of the most commonly discussed topics amongst our community." - Jens Schriver, WriteWork.com co-founder.
Jens Schriver and the team at Writework.com took the issue to heart and decided that a series of concise writing guides was the best way of helping students make the transition from high school to college.
"For the guides to be truly helpful it was important that they were written by PhD Professors with years of experience reviewing and grading college-level essays and assignments. So we went through a selection process in order to find the most qualified professors for each individual guide." - Jens Schriver, WriteWork.com co-founder.
The current writing guides are How to Write a Book Report by PhD Professor Jacob Leland, Brown University, How to Write a Research Paper by Dr. Shylaja Josyula, University of Toledo, and How to Write an Essay by PhD Professor Anthony J. Robbins, Louisiana State University.
The guides are written specifically for college students and cover issues such as the differences between high school and college assignments, best practices, and not least how to craft proper citations and avoid plagiarism.
The current writing guides are not restricted to community members and anyone interested is welcome to download them for free. A number of additional guides will be available to members of the WriteWork student community later this year.
