Writing Jobs: Angela Booth Reveals the Simplest Way Ever to Get Them
Online, July 17, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Getting hired to write is a mystery for many writers. The process seems mysterious, Angela Booth says, because they lack perspective on what's needed. She believes that the entire process can be described in a simple sentence.
She reveals that sentence in a new Editorial article on her Fab Freelance Writing Blog. Angela established the blog four years ago, in August 2006. This blog has been helping writers to grow their careers ever since.
Angela says that nowadays, anyone with a computer can decide on a writing career, and can have cash in their bank account within hours -- sometimes within minutes. "It's a different world to the 1970s, when I started to write," she says. "But in fundamental ways, it's the same. Writers get befuddled by the seeming complexity of getting hired to write, but it's very simple."
Right from its inception in 2006, Angela says her goal for her writing blog was to make writers aware of the brave new world for writers: instant publishing, and the many ramifications of that. "I can write a new article on my blog, and it's instantly available right around the world. That's still amazing to me. Writers now have power that writers in previous generations couldn't even imagine."
Few writers understand their new power, she says, and their clients are similarly unaware. Most businesses and publications are still operating in basic ways, without using the power of the Internet. "It's up to writers to educate their clients, and this means that they need to be competent on the Web."
In addition to her blog, Angela created a Web writing training course for writers, to get them up to speed on instant publishing, and the many new ways to get writing jobs. She says the Web has grown in amazing ways since 2006, and that she can't wait to see what the next four years will bring. She'll cover new developments and new processes to help writers to make money on her blog as they emerge. "It's an exciting time for writers," she says. "But no matter how things change, getting writing jobs will remain simple."
