Xavier University School of Medicine, Bonaire (XUSOM) Finalizes Name ChangeTo Avalon University School Of Medicine (AUSOM)

Online, February 25, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Xavier University School of Medicine, Bonaire has formally changed the University name to Avalon University School of Medicine. The campus is located on the island of Curaçao and feedback from students and faculty has been immensely positive.

In respect to the name change, Dr. Samir Fatteh, Executive Dean (AUSOM), explained, "We have always planned to change the name of the University to set ourselves apart from other universities with the same name. We are happy to announce that this transition has gone smoothly and is now complete."

Since our inception in 2003, the administration of Avalon University has continually striven to improve the quality of education provided to our students. There has been no change in ownership or key administration members, and we are looking forward to additional growth and implementation of additional resources. We are upgrading our facilities and capabilities, while ensuring that the legacy and traditions established as Xavier Bonaire endure, now as Avalon University.
