YesAsia Sponsors The Fantastic Asia Film Festival In Australia
Online, November 9, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Leading online retailer YesAsia.com is a premier sponsor of the Fantastic Asia Film Festival (FAFF) which runs from November 10 to 13 at the Cinema Nova in Melbourne, Australia. In cooperation with distribution and production company Monster Pictures, the inaugural event brings a diverse and interesting mix of Asian genre films from Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, China and the Philippines to film enthusiasts in Australia.
The festival is set to showcase 20 films over four days, kicking off with 2010 horror flick Helldriver from film director and special effects artist Yoshihiro Nishimura. The festival concludes with Underwater Love, a self-described "pink musical". In between, a range of genre films ranging from horror and action-comedy to robots, zombies, erotica, crime thrillers and even family fare await audiences. These include the Chinese period blockbusters Wu Xia, Let the Bullets Fly and 3D Sex and Zen: Extreme Ecstasy and the ultra-violent Korean thrillers The Yellow Sea and I Saw the Devil. The Philippines offers a glimpse into its own myths and folklore in the horror double-bill Altar and Yanggaw, while the Japanese line-up includes Ninja Kids!!! based on a beloved cartoon series, erotic sci-fi Erotibot and grindhouse revenge films Yakuza Weapon and Yakuza Hunters.
YesAsia.com's participation in the film festival highlights its position as the number one Internet source of Asian entertainment for over a decade. Fantastic Asia Film Festival director Neil Foley recognizes YesAsia.com's contribution to the event. "FAFF 2011 is shaping up to be one of the most exciting festivals on the Australian cultural calendar and this would not be possible without the kind and generous support of YesAsia," he says.
The largest online Asian entertainment retailer, YesAsia.com boasts an extensive selection of Asian movies, music and more, with a convenient and reliable purchasing platform for a global audience. The website also offers comprehensive reviews and updates on the latest releases in the Asian film and entertainment scene.
