Yoga Studio Opens in Downtown Roanoke
My Happy Place Yoga offers American-style classes, as well as workshops, retreats, and private lessons.
Online, February 23, 2012 (Newswire.com) - Located at 504 N. Oak St. in downtown Roanoke, My Happy Place Yoga provides a non-religious, Americanized style of yoga, taught by certified instructors. Classes are categorized as gentle, moderate, and vigorous, and all classes can be modified for students of any physical ability.
Sneak Preview Event
February 29 from 7 to 9 pm, My Happy Place Yoga will host a public sneak preview event at no cost. Attendees will enjoy a mini-workshop on how to de-stress, as well as a complete yoga class from 730-845. Door prizes include t-shirts and trinkets, as well as an open pass for one month's classes, a workshop registration, and a one-hour private yoga lesson. Anyone who checks in and likes the studio on Facebook while at the event will receive a special thank-you gift. Class attendees who post a review on Yelp! after the event will receive a complimentary workshop registration. RSVP by emailing [email protected].
Classes
Through March, classes will be held weekday evenings from 6 to 715. In April, more evening as well as daytime classes will be added to the schedule. The studio also hosts weekend workshops and semi-annual yoga retreats. Private lessons and on-site corporate classes are also available. For details, visit the website at www.MyHappyPlaceYoga.com.
Future Plans
Classes will be held in The Classic Cafe's banquet hall through the month of March, until the upstairs studio renovations are complete. For this reason, new members who sign up in February or March will be extended a special rate for one year. The studio will offer additional yoga classes and may add dance classes in coming months.
Special Rates
Student athletes from local high schools, as well as military personnel, teachers, policemen, and firemen will receive a special rate. Regular monthly passes, which allow a student to attend any class, any time, will cost $60 through March, and this reduced rate will be extended for one year. In April, the rate will be set at $75 per month. The studio also offers a drop-in rate and a 10-class pass. The first class is always free.
