This promises to be an awesomely fun two day workshop with Leslie Kaminoff, world-renown Master Teacher and best selling author of “Yoga Anatomy.” These two days are giving the yoga community in the San Diego area much rise to be excited.
"Leslie Kaminoff was one of my most influential teachers. His intellect & vast understanding of yoga are truly inspiring. He is THE guru of breathing -- opening your eyes to this profound aspect of yoga. A must for all serious students and yoga teachers -- I encourage all my teachers to take his course!"
Beverly Foster Murphy, Owner, MindBody Online
"If you're a yoga teacher, and even if you're not, LK's class will fundamentally change the way you teach & practice yoga. It did for me. Leslie is wonderful at demystifying complex subjects & making them readily accessible -- both on an intellectual academic level & on a tangible experiential level. What's more, he's refreshingly non-pretentious and always willing to go the extra mile to make sure everybody's on the same page." ~Suzanne Ausnit, Yoga Teacher, NY & TX
When we look in the mirror every morning, what are we seeing? The skin, muscles, shapes and contours that we identify as “us” represent only the superficial layer of our anatomy. The intent of this two day intensive is to demonstrate how an experience of the deepest structures of our body can provide support, initiate movement and promote healing. Since the process of breathing is at the functional core of any mind-body practice, the anatomy of the breath from a yogic perspective will be a key focus.
"Yoga is not about doing the poses. It's about undoing what's in the way of the poses." - Leslie Kaminoff
Topics covered will include the basic anatomy of breathing, the mechanics of spinal movement, coordinating the three diaphragms (bandhas), and how to access, stretch and strengthen the key structures of the breathing body. Participants will utilize a unique blend of visual, tactile and verbal processes to present the anatomical information, and asana sequences specifically designed to create a deepened connection to our “inner bodies” through yoga practice.
Ample time will be devoted to individual concerns and questions for participants as well.
