Young Leaders to Join Wynonna Judd as Honorees at ANASAZI Foundation Banquet

Mesa, Arizona (December 2, 2005) - Country music star Wynonna Judd will share the spotlight with some remarkable young people at ANASAZI Foundation's annual scholarship dinner on Saturday, December 3, at the Four Seasons Resort in Scottsdale, Arizona. Law student Elizabeth Harris and four other graduates of ANASAZI's outdoor behavioral healthcare programs will be recognized for their leadership and awarded with college scholarships.
NFL Hall of Fame quarterback Steve Young's Forever Young Foundation will present a $1000 scholarship to Harris, who was named the "Young Leader" for 2005. Scholarships of $500 will be awarded to culinary student Christopher Chapin, missionary Michael Deru, high school senior Elspeth Lucas, and University of California-Berkeley student Kaitlyn Egan.
Wynonna and her husband D.R. Roach will receive the Turn for Peace award, which is presented to individuals who have made a lasting impact on the lives of children and families in need. The couple is active in numerous charitable and humanitarian efforts, including YouthAIDS, Nashville's Oasis Center, St. Jude Children's Hospital, the American Red Cross, and Habitat for Humanity.
Proceeds from the event enable financially challenged families to obtain the help they need for a son or daughter with substance abuse, emotional, or behavioral concerns.
Wynonna comes to Arizona courtesy of the West Valley Symphony, with whom she will perform on Sunday, December 4, 3:30 p.m., at Glendale Arena in Glendale, Arizona. For tickets and event information, call Ticketmaster at (480) 784-4444 or visit www.ticketmaster.com.
