YouTube Testing Its New Layout

With more and more new videos getting uploaded in YouTube every minute, the site has decided to roll out changes in its appearance considering the users' feedback.

YouTube is always experimenting with its appearance in order to assists its users to find , watch and share videos of their interest without trouble, out of the thousands of videos that get uploaded on the site every moment. On Thursday too, its owner, Google set out for a change by giving a new look to YouTube. Report says that Google is testing out new designs for the site depending upon the categories of videos that it contains.

However, as the design is still in its testing process, it was visible only to a limited set of users from whom You Tube has begun to collect feedback on its new look. You Tube stated in a report that the changes it incorporates in its site from time to time are widely based on its users' feedbacks. And hence, the new experiment it rolled out yesterday too will be applied permanently only if it receives positive response from a majority of its users.

According to the sources, the new modifications might contain screenshots from the most recent version of Chrome used by MacBook Pro 17 inch. They also stated that, there will be a side bar on the left hand side of the homepage of one's You Tube account that will highlight the user's subscriptions listing the number of videos uploaded by each subscription. However, the sidebar will no longer contain any YouTube categories, but will contain a search box that will enable the users to find any subscription. It will also display the suggested channels below the subscription list.

Apart from this, the new user interface will let its users to hide the unwanted feeds that consume a lot of space due to their enormous sizes. Added to this, a small "watched" tag will be displayed over the thumbnails after the video has been played once.

However, Google has also rolled out some instructions as how to try this new YouTube feature across different browsers.
