According to a report by the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, Canadian businesses lost $3 billion a year due to cybercrime. Having the proper cybersecurity insurance in place before an attack happens is of critical importance.

For many retail owners in Canada, lack of understanding about insurance is to blame. Eighty percent of businesses say insurers need to educate firms on risk pricing when it comes to cybersecurity, according to a survey conducted by Ovum and FICO.

Education is a large part of what makes Zensurance’s brand unique, whether it is in regards to cybersecurity insurance or a traditional general liability policy.

Zensurance offers a seamless, digital experience that goes beyond the traditional insurance-purchasing process. Rather than overwhelming retailers with paperwork and industry jargon, Zensurance’s platform uses data analytics to help business owners gauge their risk, make an educated assessment of the options and purchase policies accordingly.

“Traditionally, you would chat with a broker who probably doesn’t specialize in your retail business or understand your business’ specific risks,” explains Danish Yusuf, CEO and co-founder of Zensurance. “With Zensurance, business owners benefit from a user-friendly process that presents perfectly tailored insurance packages, so we’re excited to offer our solution to Retail Council of Canada members.”

This new partnership with Retail Council of Canada furthers Zensurance’s mission of educating and empowering entrepreneurs. As the “Voice of Retail in Canada since 1963,” RRC represents the interests of more than 45,000 retailers across the country. Helping retailers prepare for the future of commerce, which includes both the benefits and vulnerabilities of digital payments and online shopping, requires a proactive approach to insurance.
