Zeus Selected to Participate in Amazon Web Services 'Cloud for the Enterprise Event'
Online, April 13, 2010 (Newswire.com) - SAN MATEO, Calif., - April 13, 2010 - Zeus Technology, the only pure software-based application traffic management (application delivery controller) company, announced today that it will be participating in Amazon Web Services (AWS) exclusive Cloud for the Enterprise Event in San Francisco today, April 13, at the Hilton Hotel in Union Square. Zeus is one of a select group of AWS solution providers that will be sharing and demoing services via the event's vendor expo. Zeus will showcase how Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) customers can deliver exceptional online services on a pay-as-you-go basis through its Zeus Traffic Manager.
More than 400 C-level executives and managers from Fortune 1,000 companies will attend the event, where Amazon.com CTO Dr. Werner Vogels will showcase the vast offerings and benefits of AWS.
Zeus' product demonstration will display how Zeus Traffic Manager empowers Amazon EC2 users to:
• Improve application performance
• Increase application availability
• Manage updates without downtime
• Gain visibility of Amazon EC2 server performance and reliability
• Grow and scale complex, distributed applications
The product walk through will also showcase how Zeus Traffic Manager simplifies web enhancement for companies and developers using Amazon EC2. With a simple web service interface, users can monitor and control traffic, and automate maintenance, ensuring online services are always fast and available, even during high peaks in traffic.
"We've been using the Zeus Traffic Manager for some time and have been impressed with its performance and scalability," said Jim Brown, CTO, CloudMade. "We use Amazon EC2 extensively, and Zeus Traffic Manager as an Amazon AMI has made the integration and management with EC2 even easier. Zeus is significantly ahead of the competition in the Cloud space giving us the flexibility we need to ensure our services have 100 percent uptime."
Zeus is packaged on Amazon EC2 as an Amazon Machine Image (AMI), which is a template for creating virtual machines. Users create one or more 'instances' of this AMI, where each instance is a Virtual Appliance with Zeus software preinstalled. To use Zeus Traffic Manager, companies simply need to log on to the instance and configure it.
