Fiske, a co-author of a complete biography of Solomon Northup, will give two presentations at the Black History Month Brunch being put on by the Emanuel A.M.E. Church in Tuckahoe, New York on February 28, 2015.

In anticipation of the screening of the film 12 Years a Slave at this year's Telluride by the Sea Film Festival, author David Fiske will talk about Solomon Northup, the man behind the memoir of the same name.

A companion to the classic African-American autobiographical narrative, Twelve Years A Slave, this work presents fascinating new information about the 1841 kidnapping, 1853 rescue, and pre- and post-slavery life of Solomon Northup.

"What Happened to Solomon Northup?" will be the topic of a historical talk at the Fort Edward Art Center, in Fort Edward, New York, on June 21, 2012 at 7:30 pm. The Art Center is located at 83 Broadway. The program is free and open to the public.
