On this Sept. 2, 24-year-old Abigail Bergman will kick off from Point Dume (in northern Malibu) to solo swim 27 miles across Santa Monica Bay. The target destination is Rocky Point, Palos Verdes.

This week, 23-year-old open-water swimmer Abby Bergman completed a 21.3-mile solo crossing of Lake Tahoe - and is now a Triple Crown and California Triple Crown titleholder.
