Local author Maura McCarley has published her first fantasy novel that takes place in Walnut Creek and Northern California. Enchanted by buckeye groves around Mt. Diablo State Park, Maura decided she wanted to write a fantasy story featuring them.

Maura McCarley announces the release of her first novel, The Curious Magic of Buckeye Groves. A book-signing party will be at the Center for Conscious Relationship, Pleasant Hill, on Monday, December 1, 2014.
