The 2019 graduating class made up of six men and one woman on the autism spectrum is the sixth graduating class for Exceptional Minds, a pioneer in autism employability, self-sufficiency and inclusion.

The studio of working professionals on the spectrum started 2019 with 128 movies and television shows to its credit, including three of the five 2019 Oscar nominees in the visual effects category ('Avengers: Infinity War,' 'First Man,' and 'Solo: A Star Wars Story').

Its Virtual Private Tutoring program is modeled after the Exceptional Minds program that has prepared animators and visual effects artists on the autism spectrum for careers at Marvel Studios, Cartoon Network and Warner Bros Animation.

'Who better to animate for an autism-related show than animators with autism?'

Animators on the spectrum joined Oscar-, Emmy- and Grammy-winning artists to present four animated shorts at this year's Palm Springs International Animation Festival. Exceptional Minds shorts were among the 250 that made the cut, out of more than 2,700 PSIAF submissions overall.

Former CEO of Albert Einstein Academies Jeffrey Shapiro brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to Exceptional Minds nonprofit school for young adults on the autism spectrum as it enters the next chapter.

This year's HFPA Grants Banquet is number four for Exceptional Minds, which prepares young adults with autism for careers in visual effects and animation.
