A PNAS study demonstrates platelet-derived growth factor D (PDGF-D) binding to PDGF receptor-beta (PDGFRβ) activates NK cells to enhance interleukin (IL)-15-mediated NK cell survival. City of Hope research suggests that the selective introduction of PDGF signaling in NK cells by IL-15 should benefit NK cell expansion and persistence and/or enhance effector function in NK cell-based immunotherapies.
