Nevada Dept. of Agriculture Signs Precedent-Setting Agreement with Advocates to Protect Historic Virginia Range Horses
Return to Freedom signed a cooperative agreement with the Nevada Department of Agriculture (NDA) to humanely manage more than 1,500 horses in the Virginia Range, which encompasses more than 280,000 acres. This precedent-setting agreement launches the largest ever private-public partnership to manage wild horses while at the same time improving public safety and benefiting Nevada taxpayers.

Nevada Wild Horse Management Agreement Approved By Board of Agriculture
The Nevada Board of Agriculture voted eight to one approving a cooperative agreement between the Nevada Department of Agriculture (NDA) and Return to Freedom, the founding organization for the American Wild Horse Preservation Campaign (AWHPC), to humanely manage horses in the Virginia Range which encompasses more than 280,000 acres and more than 1,500 horses.

Federal Court Rules BLM Violated Law in Wyoming Wild Horse Roundup
U.S. District Court of Wyoming Chief Judge Nancy D. Freudenthal issued an order stating that the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) violated the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) when it conducted a massive "Checkerboard Roundup" last fall, during which 1,263 wild horses were permanently removed from their homes on the range in southwestern Wyoming.
